William Chan is a mutual aid organizer, activist, and artist. His critical statements on the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 are considered to be one of most important works in response to the Iraq war. His works are taught and held at institutions such as the Tim Hetherington Library at the Bronx Documentary Center, Tate Modern, Yale University, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum, and Harvard University, among others.
